THE WORKS OF JERRY SHELTON

COMPILED BY ROY GLASHAN

INTRODUCTION

Very little biographical information about Jerry Shelton was found in the course of research for this bibliography.

John W. Campbell printed a letter from him in his "Eyewitness Account" for Astounding Science Fiction in October 1945. In the letter, which contains a description of the sighting of a V-2 (Vergeltungswaffe-2) missile, Shelton mentions being a soldier (presummably American, because he mentions the USO) in Germany at the time.

"Jerry Shelton" may have been a nom-de-plume. Works with this by-line appeared in more than one magazine, so it could not have been a house name. His last known publication was an untitled letter published in the US edition of Astounding Science Fiction in September 1946. Consequently, it may be conjectured that, unless he abandoned the profession of writing, he died shortly after this date.
